Levantarse!

Life is the hardest, longest activity in which any of us will ever engage. There is no off-season, no pause button, no 15-minute time-out. It will continue with or without your permission. One’s only choice is to survive it for the other option would cease the activity permanently. I would title life as one long roller coaster ride. It sends you soaring one minute only to send you plummeting the next. It becomes both routine and unpredictable. Its speed lulls and livens spontaneously. When life is soaring, when it’s routine, when it’s lively, that’s when it is at its easiest. Finding the strength to endure those moments is a simple discovery. The difficulty of life arises when it drops you into those low-lying valleys that stretch out endlessly. It’s when you have no idea what will happen next and you can’t summon the courage to continue. It’s those moments where life has beaten you to a pulp, and your only desire is to crawl into a dark corner and blend into the paneling. What does one do in those moments?
Stand up.
These two little words are my motivation. I haven’t had the most wearisome life, but it certainly hasn’t been the easiest. There have been moments when quitting didn’t seem too unfavorable an option. In those moments, though, I stand up and look in the mirror and find the strength that is me. Pitying yourself, hating the world, blaming everyone else and looking for another to make you happy are effortless avenues to live life. Strength comes from standing up and confronting life. Relying on yourself & whatever motivates you and facing it head-on. You lost your job. That’s tough, but bitching & complaining isn’t going to put food on the table. Your relationship ended. And? Lucky for you, there are single members of the opposite sex still wandering about. Money troubles, huh? That’s a universal dilemma.
Your problems aren’t original. They’re not unique. Feeling defeat and conceding is not an unfamiliar choice of mine. I’ve done it and as I’m only human, I’ll do it again before mi vida is over. Life will continue to be full of obstacles, doubters, sudden drops. It will not go as you wish & plan. Everyone will not believe in you. Loved ones will hurt you. Disappointments will be many. The unexpected occurrences will occasionally be undesired. Life will continue to sporadically pummel you, but don’t make it easy by just sitting there and allowing it.
STAND UP!
And fight. Why concede to life? You’ll never get out of it alive anyway.

“Your problems aren’t original. They’re not unique.”
Sigh, that is so true! Life does go on and the only thing we can do is deal with the many changes that will occur the best way that we can…anything else is unacceptable.
Mais oui, I’m still learning
Great post, chica!!
